Easy to Use: Thomson's new legal online service looks and operates just like FirstPoint. So even new users can get great results with little or no training. Products are presented in a consistent format and are searchable from a single search form.
More Up to Date: Central to our proposition is the way we publish legislation. We've created a new legislation publishing team and processes to give you the greatest confidence in the currency of the legislative material you're using. We aim to provide Law-in-Force consolidations of all the legislation published in our commentaries, with detailed amendment histories at both a section and Act level.
Transparent Currency Information: Each piece of legislation has a clear and concise currency statement. We'll tell you:
- the status of our latest consolidation (law-in-force or amendments pending)
- the latest amending provisions taken in to the consolidation
- if there are amendments pending, we'll tell you what those are and when they came in to force
- if there are amendments scheduled to come in to force at some future date, we'll tell you that too.
Better Integration: References to case law are now linked to FirstPoint, as well as the full-text Thomson law report / judgment, and the PDF version of the report in it's original as-published form. Legislation links take you to full text legislation as published in your new online commentaries (even where published in a separate product). Links to free third-party content are also available.
Accessibility: If you use an intranet to access your legal online research services or perhaps bookmark content for subsequent access, Thomson's new legal online enhancements offer a range of new options. Deep-links can be created to content at various levels to a search form, to a document, or to a saved search.
